Project Overview:
Located in Southeastern Washington State, on the Hanford reservation, The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era.
The WTP project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects.
Its construction spans 65 acres with four major nuclear facilities - Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory - as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities.
Responsibilities:
Execution of A-E Services Contract.
Preparation of original architectural design layout, details, drawings and specifications for buildings.
Coordinate and integrate design work between the architectural discipline and other engineering disciplines.
Prepare procurement and subcontract requisition documents and perform associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations.
Utilize critical thinking to evaluate, select and apply design skills and techniques to project related assignments.

Experience:
Experience with architectural design, production techniques, building materials, and contraction methods or development of project deliverables.
Understands technical issues and cost related to selection of design features and unique architectural requirements.
Knowledge of practices and procedures of NFPA, OSHA, ANSI, IBC, UFC's, and the USGBC LEED Rating System.
Experience with Code reviews, ability to perform and generate code compliance reports and drawings.
Experience with graphic presentation, ability to prepare and resent.
Experience with engineering planning and control methods.
Experience producing a full, well-coordinated, detailed set of architectural construction documents.
Experience with coordinating a multi-discipline design team.
Experience with CADD application such as Autodesk Design Suite or MicroStation to originate 3E model content and produce design deliverables in a multi-disciplinary model environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Sketchup.
Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Experience with developing CSI Masterformat specification, or SpecsIntact (preferred).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university, Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university is preferred.
9 Years of Progressive Experience LEED AP Certified Professional (Preferred qualification) OR working toward a professional Architecture certification or licensure.
