Position Overview

In this role, you ll be testing samples of aggregate, concrete and asphalt to ensure that only the best quality materials are used as we work together to build our communities.

Wage Scale for Position:
$21-$23/hr DOE w/ potential for overtime.

Opportunities for Community Engagement
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Collect samples from asphalt or aggregate plants
Performs field tests for density or other properties
Performs and records aggregate gradations
Process samples using a variety of testing equipment and procedures
Record data and enter information into computer systems
Communicates with plant staff
Performs general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned
Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production
Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Regular and timely attendance.
Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.
Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
Safety sensitive:
Per RCW 49.

240 this position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites.
Demonstrates the ability to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.
Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Ability to obtain A.
C.
I Concrete Technician certification and concrete Strength Testing certification,Valid driver s license required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Demonstrates good performance, safety and attendance.
Demonstrates proficiency in basic mathematics.
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with all departments and customers on the phone and in person.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
Demonstrates a willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrates organizational and time management skills.
Must pass DOT physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
