- Designing, constructing, and operating complex, first-of-a-kind facilities to treat radioactive waste or eliminate obsolete chemical weapons
- Engineering, construction, and logistics services in support of defense and homeland security
- Providing engineering and construction management expertise to help combat bioterrorism and support the demilitarization of biological weapons facilities in U.S. ally countries
- Environmental cleanup, decommissioning, and restoration at former nuclear weapon production sites
Job Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):
The Sr. Electrical Engineer reports to the Electrical Functional Manager and is responsible for technical related Electrical activities in providing support to the WTP Project. This position is intended to bolster the technical capabilities of Central Engineering in support of the increased project workload expected over the foreseeable future. These duties include:
1. Provide technical oversight of various activities to ensure Electrical Discipline project execution is consistent with Bechtel work practices, procedures, and design guides
2. Review and disposition Electrical Discipline Condition Reports (CRs), and complete actions assigned to electrical discipline
3. Support, design, checking and oversees the implementation of Electrical Discipline work, which will include calculations, one line diagrams, specifications and system descriptions
4. Prepare, review and/or check technical studies and reports
Must be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry proven concepts, and procedures. Must work well with others, other disciplines, and groups. Must be able to effectively communicate, and work well with others and within a team. Must be able to work well with other disciplines. Must know how to use computer programs such as the Microsoft WINDOWS suite of programs.
Basic Qualifications
- BS degree in electrical engineering with 6 year of related electrical design experience; MS degree with 4 years of related electrical design experience
- Must have 5 year of experience in Electrical Engineering developing documentation for Conceptual, Preliminary and Final
- DesignEligible Foreign National applicants must possess a US Government issued Green Card and successfully go through a government screening process
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- EIT Certification or able to obtain within 12 months of employment
Minimum Qualifications
- Hands-on Microsoft office programs
- Knowledge & application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards
- Knowledge on electrical systems design, schematics and electrical equipment layoutsMinimum 5 years experience with ETAP (or equivalent software) and other industry wide electrical system design tools, such as CAD 2D and cable designing and routing software
- Excellent oral & written communications skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PE Registration
- Lead or supervisory experience
- Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience
